Over
the past 14 years we have treated over 750 patients.
We accept children from 8 - 18 years of age suffering
from a range of eating disorders. The current daily rate is £345. With effect from 1st September 2007 our daily rate will be £355.
We are also happy
to take on children with eating disorders who have
associated problems such as school refusal or OCD.

We accept the most difficult of patients
and have built a team of nurses extremely skilled
in feeding anorexic and other under-weight children.
We rarely resort to
naso-gastric feeding.

All our patients on weight gain programmes gain
a steady and uninterrupted 1kg per week.

We
set a discharge date on the day of admission and
achieve it in 83% of cases. |
 |
Our
stays are based on one week per kilo to target weight
(98% of weight-height ratio) and two weeks to stabilise
before discharge.

Only when there are other
significant difficulties, such as OCD
or unresolved family problems do we fail to discharge
the children on the predicted date.

We have recently introduced
a new six week residential programme to treat childhood
obesity and are able to accept children
whose physical or psychological health is deemed
to be at risk. This programme includes family therapy/counselling
sessions, healthy eating advice for the child and
parents, an exercise programme which can continued
to be followed at home and weekly follow up until
the child reaches their target weight.
