communication

You are given a half hour time slot on Monday and Thursday when you can ring your child. You and your child are free to write letters, but we do not allow e-mailing or mobile telephones. The children have access to the Internet for school work only.

You are encouraged to visit on Saturday or Sunday afternoon. After the initial visit, when you must be in the unit, you may take your child out for the afternoon, provided s/he has gained sufficient weight in the preceding week.

As s/he progresses you can take your child out for a full day either on Saturday or Sunday and s/he can eat either a packed lunch or a restaurant meal with you.

Towards the end of his or her stay s/he will be able to come home from Friday evening until Sunday evening and for the last 2-3 weeks can stay for 4 days and go back to school for 2 days.

Of course you may ring the nurses as often as you would like and also speak to Dr Dawson at any time.
